All camera and microphone analysis happens locally on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
No registration, no login, no email — we never know who you are.
Your scan history is stored in SharedPreferences on your device and never leaves it.
We show ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect certain identifiers for ad personalisation.
1 Introduction
Welcome to AI Truth Scanner: Lie Test ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Android application, and it applies to all users worldwide, including those in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By installing or using the App you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
Effective Date: June 21, 2026 | Last Updated: June 21, 2026
2 Data Controller
For users in the EEA, the data controller is the developer of AI Truth Scanner: Lie Test. You may contact us at the email address listed in the Contact section below.
3 App Permissions & How We Use Them
The App requests the following Android runtime permissions. We only request permissions that are strictly necessary for core features.
| Permission | Why it is needed | Sent off-device? |
|---|---|---|
| CAMERA | Captures a live video feed during a lie-detection session. Facial micro-expressions and visual cues are analysed entirely on-device in real time. Captured photos may be temporarily stored on the device for result visualization and sharing purposes. These images are never uploaded to our servers and remain on the user's device. | Never |
| RECORD_AUDIO | Records the subject's voice during a session. Audio waveforms and vocal patterns are analysed locally on-device. No audio recordings are retained after the session ends. | Never |
| INTERNET | Required solely for Google AdMob to load and display advertisements. No personal data collected by us is transmitted over this connection. | Only via AdMob SDK (see §6) |
| ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Lets AdMob determine whether the device has an active internet connection before attempting to load an ad. | Only via AdMob SDK |
4 Data We Process
4.1 Camera & Visual Data
When you grant camera permission, the App accesses your device camera to capture a real-time video stream. This stream is fed into an on-device AI model that analyses facial expressions, eye movement, and other visual indicators. Captured photos may be temporarily stored on your device for result visualization and sharing. They are not uploaded to our servers and can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. Processing happens entirely within the App's runtime memory.
4.2 Microphone & Audio Data
When you grant microphone permission, the App records a brief audio clip during each session. The audio signal is analysed locally for vocal stress patterns and cadence variations. The raw audio buffer is held only while the analysis is in progress and is discarded immediately afterwards. Audio recordings may be temporarily stored on the device during processing and are deleted automatically after analysis.
4.3 Scan History (SharedPreferences)
After each session the App saves a summary result — such as a truth/stress percentage score and a timestamp — to Android SharedPreferences (local device storage). This data exists only on your device. It does not include raw camera frames, audio recordings, or any biometric data. You can clear this history at any time from within the App's settings or by clearing the App's data via your device settings.
4.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Device identifiers (we do not read them; AdMob may — see §6)
- Location data of any kind
- Biometric templates or voice prints
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
- Any data via accounts, logins, or registration — there are none
5 Local Storage & Data Retention
The only persistent data the App stores is your scan history kept in SharedPreferences. This storage is:
- Private — accessible only to the App, not to other apps on your device.
- On-device — never synced to any cloud service by us.
- Deletable — clear it at any time via the App's History screen or via Settings → Apps → AI Truth Scanner → Clear Data on your device.
- Removed on uninstall — uninstalling the App permanently deletes all SharedPreferences data.
6 Advertising — Google AdMob
The App is free and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). AdMob is a third-party service and operates independently of us.
6.1 What AdMob May Collect
When an ad is displayed, the AdMob SDK may collect and process the following on Google's behalf:
- Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / GAID) and ad-interaction signals
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device model, operating system version, and language
- Ad impressions and click events
- App usage context (which screen an ad appeared on)
6.3 Google's Privacy Policy
Google's data use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's EU User Consent Policy. For details on how Google uses data from apps that use their services, please refer to Google's official policies available at google.com/policies/privacy.
6.4 Opting Out of Personalised Ads
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on your Android device, or by resetting your Advertising ID.
7 Third-Party SDKs & Services
The App currently integrates only the following third-party component:
- Google AdMob SDK — advertising (see §6). Google acts as an independent data controller for the data it collects through this SDK.
We do not integrate any analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), crash-reporting services, social SDKs, or any other third-party libraries that transmit data externally.
8 No Server-Side Processing
This design means there is no risk of your camera frames or audio clips being intercepted in transit, stored in a data centre, or accessed by our team.
9 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in EEA member states where a higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please contact us. Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete; however, we can advise on clearing locally stored data from the device.
10 Your Rights (GDPR & Global)
Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, most GDPR rights are exercised directly on your device. The table below explains how each right applies:
All data is on your device — view scan history within the App at any time.
Edit or delete individual history entries directly inside the App.
Clear App data via device settings or uninstall to erase all local data.
Revoke camera/microphone permissions at any time via Android's app permission settings.
Scan summaries are stored in SharedPreferences. Contact us if you need an export.
Opt out of personalised ads at any time via Android's ad settings (see §6.4).
App results are for entertainment only — not used for any legal or binding decisions.
EEA users may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority (e.g. ICO in the UK).
To exercise any right or contact us about privacy concerns, see the Contact section.
11 Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For EEA users, our legal bases under GDPR Article 6 are:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — Camera and microphone access is granted by you at runtime via Android's permission prompt. You may revoke consent at any time via device settings.
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — Non-personalised advertising enables us to offer the App free of charge. This interest does not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — Advertising may be personalised or non-personalised depending on Google AdMob settings, user consent where required, and device advertising preferences.
Camera and microphone data is processed locally on the device. Temporary files may be created during analysis and are automatically deleted after processing. No camera or audio data is uploaded to our servers.
12 Data Security
We take the security of your information seriously:
- All analysis is performed locally — no transmission means no interception risk.
- SharedPreferences data is stored in the App's private data directory, inaccessible to other apps on non-rooted devices.
- The App does not store biometric raw data — only derived summary scores.
- We do not maintain databases or user accounts that could be breached.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. However, because we store minimal data locally and transmit none to our servers, the risk surface is extremely limited.
13 International Data Transfers
We do not transfer your personal data internationally, as we do not collect it on our servers. Google AdMob may transfer data internationally as part of Google's global infrastructure, subject to Google's own Standard Contractual Clauses and transfer mechanisms as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
14 Entertainment Disclaimer
15 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, notify you through a notice within the App or on our Google Play Store listing.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
